Senior Resident of the Month: Lynn Horn
Nov 19th, 2009 by admin
The story begins in the Bronx on March 3rd 1946, the day Lynn was born! Growing up in the Bronx was a lot of fun. Lynn enjoyed having her extended family close. Mr. Eli Goldsmith, Lynn’s father was the Vice President of Foreign Operations. He worked long hours, traveling all over the world to provide a wonderful life for his family. Lynn’s mother taught disadvantaged and dyslexic children to read.
When Lynn was nine years old her family moved to Long Island in a little town called Roslyn. They made the move in order for her family to have more room. In Roslyn, Lynn would visit the Duck Pond usually three times a week. She would enjoy spending time there playing her guitar.
In 1973 Lynn married her husband Robert Lewis Horn in a lavish ceremony at the Hampshire House in Manhattan. Lynn still recalls their first date at a little coffee house called “My Father’s Place” in Roslyn. Two years later Lynn and her husband had a little boy named Daniel. He was their pride and joy. Little Daniel kept the family busy. He was into little league, soccer and baseball.
Lynn enjoys many things in life. She is extremely talented, you can find her playing the guitar, writing poetry or painting (especially here where she can paint pictures of the sunsets over the lake). Lynn is very active at the Lake Shore going out on our trips, enjoying a diet Pepsi at our cocktail lounge and sharing her stories with all of us! We always look forward to having Lynn and even her son Danny, who joins us on some of our outings!
